Fanari – Quieter coast area close to Lassi and Argostoli
Fanari is one of several resorts along the coast near the capital Argostoli and Lassi, the most popular destination on Kefalonia. Fanari is on the south-west coast of Kefalonia, a few miles from the airport. This is the quietest area of this popular scenic stretch of coastline, with a backdrop of low wooded hills and a famous picture-book lighthouse. Holidays in Finari are not complete without a walk to the lighthouse and the Katovothres sinkholes where the sea disappears to reappear on the other side of the island. Fanari beach is small and simple with tiny rocky coves for snorkelling and fishing. You can swim in shallow water at nearby Katovothres beach too.
