Many parents debate taking their kids out of school to beat the soaring costs of a family holiday during the school summer break. To help families get away for less during the peak summer time, we rolled out an unprecendented school holiday discount in response to official figures reporting record truancy levels.
This promotion saved our family customers up to £75 on family holidays departing between 17 July and 29 August 2010, traditionally a time when holiday prices peak. This offer was in addition to the ongoing 'Up to £100 off' all holidays booked online and represented a huge cost saving of £175 per family on holidays which already offer exceptional value.
The deal was created in response to official figures by the Department for Children, Schools and Famililes reporting record truancy levels in the UK. Some pupils are missing more than a term a year with pupils under eleven missing twelve per cent more days of school without permission in 2009, than in 2007 and 2008. Brits are taking children out of schools during term time because travelling off peak currently offers considerable cost savings. Some tour operators do offer free child places but if you take in to account under occupancy charges the benefit is neglible.”

This promotion was valid when travelling with one or more children under the age of 18 years old and is also available for single parents.
A trip for two adults and one child for 7 nights in Dalaman, Turkey on a B&B basis sold with directline holidays in July 2009 cost £1385, the same trip was available departing on 20 July 2010 for £895.**
