Faliraki Weather

Faliraki is without doubt one of the most popular resorts in Rhodes, and the climate is definitely only one of its main attractions. Summer sunshine is guaranteed from May through October and rainfall is practically nonexistent during this period. Peak summer season temperatures in Faliraki can head well over 30C with sunshine levels hitting 12 hours per day. The beautiful climate with 300 sunny days per year is the reason Rhodes is known as the Sun Island. The weather in Faliraki will be ideal for holiday makers who require guaranteed sunshine on their annual holiday.

 

Holiday makers who love high temperatures will no doubt favour the peak summer months between June and August. Temperatures in Faliraki during this period will remain constant at just over 30C but temperatures of 35C and above are not uncommon. September is another hot month with little rainfall and temperatures hovering just below 30C. Sea temperatures are warm at around 25C, and the beaches at Faliraki will be busy with holiday makers enjoying the numerous water sports. Evenings will be a balmy 22C; perfect for those open air bars and nightclubs.

 

Although temperatures in Faliraki are high, the Meltemi winds that blow in across the coast do bring respite from the heat. Cooler temperatures in Faliraki can be found in the early spring and late autumn months. The island becomes very fresh during these seasons and the weather is pleasantly warm with a scattered showers. October will see temperatures in Faliraki hover just under the 25C mark with seven hours of sunshine per day. Winter does bring slightly higher levels of rainfall but there will also be plenty of sunny days with temperatures hovering around 16C; comparable to a warm spring day in the UK.
