From 1st of January 2011, a City Tax has been introduced and is being imposed on visitors staying in Rome. The tax has been approved by their City Council and has been brought in to provide additional funding towards improvement and maintenance of the city’s tourist attractions.
The FCO (Foreign & Commonwealth Office) is the British government body that will issue advice should a country be considered unsafe to travel to.
