Egypt is a country bathed in almost perpetual sunshine the whole year round, the days are warm and hot and the nights are cool. During the summer months the climate in the inland desert areas can vary widely from 7C at night, to 43C during the day. Temperatures in the coastal regions in resorts such as Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada will usually see an average of 14C during winter and around 30C in the summer. The summer months from May until August will see Egypt gaining around 12 hours of constant sunshine per day. Rainfall in Egypt is very low with less that 80mm per year and prevailing northern winds can take the edge of the heat.

Weather In Egypt - Year round sunshine makes for a perfect beach holiday
If you are a sun worshipper a holiday in Egypt will be a dream, the Red Sea boasts some of the warmest waters and beaches that are ideal for sunbathing and watersports. Temperatures from May to October are always in the 30s and the water temperature makes coral reef diving and snorkeling very popular on the coast. The bustling city of Cairo and the Pyramids are major attractions and there are reports of humidity during the highest summer months, but for the rest of the year humidity is relatively low.

The winter months see temperatures on Egypt holidays hitting the mid to high 20s and Egypt still receives around seven to eight hours of constant sunshine per day. The nights are cold but the days are perpetually hot and sunny. Egypt is at its mildest from October to May with temperatures around 22C to 31C, so this may be the perfect time for a family holiday in Egypt. Temperatures in the desert during the daytime still hit the 30s and the sea is still warm enough to take a leisurely swim in.
