They recently opened a new multi-storey car park and have been extending and improving passenger areas including the departure lounge, and the international arrivals route into the baggage reclaim hall. Edinburgh Airport lies just to the west of the city. Southampton Airport is owned BAA who also own seven UK airports - Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Southampton, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh.

Edinburgh airport is located just off the A8 main road between Glasgow and Edinburgh. The airport access road turns north off the A8 between the Gogar and Newbridge roundabouts.

Edinburgh Airport - Rail and Coach Links
Taxis are available from a taxi rank adjacent to the Edinburgh Airport Terminal building (journey time from the airport to Edinburgh city centre is approximately 20 minutes). Frequent bus services run from the bus station to the central Edinburgh bus terminus Edinburgh Waverley rail station, also stopping at Edinburgh Haymarket rail station. These buses run every 6-8 minutes during peak periods, and at least every 10 minutes until approximately 9.30pm every 15 minutes until approximately 1130pm and hourly through the night. The bus service linking Edinburgh Airport to Edinburgh city centre (journey time approximately 25 minutes) runs all day. Regular bus services to Dunfermline and Livingston are also available.
