Dona Paula Weather

The beach resort of Dona Paula is located 7km south of the capital city Panjim, and less than 30km from the international airport, Dabolim. On a hoilday in Dona Paula you will experience a tropical climate, with plenty of high temperatures and daily sunshine. The best time to visit the resort is during the dry winter season, when the average temperature is 30C and there is limited rainfall.

 

Dona Paula sees little variation in temperature throughout the year, with heavy fluctuation in rainfall levels seen, thanks to the monsoon which lasts from June to September. November to March is the peak holiday season, when temperatures average between 30C - 33C, and there are 9 - 10 hours of sunshine each day. There's limited rainfall in the winter months, with January and February seeing non-existent rain and the preceding months less than 23mm each. Night-time temperatures are pleasant, around 20C - 23C, and the humidity level is high, but not unbearable. Water temperatures in Dona Paula remain around 28C - 29C in the winter, meaning ideal conditions for the extensive water sports that are available in the resort.

 

The humidity level begins to rise in April and then May sees an increase in rain, with around 50mm falling during the month as the monsoon arrives. The rains bring relief from the high heat and humidity, and rise dramatically in June and July, when between 800mm - 900mm of rain falls in Dona Paula.
