Weather On Djerba Island
Djerba Island enjoys long, hot summers with very little rain. In fact, with over 300 days of sunshine and warm weather through the winter months, Djerba Island is a superb year-round destination. The main season is April to October when the weather is hot and dry and the average daily maximum temperature ranges from 23ºC in April to 33ºC in August. However, a glance at the table will show that temperatures are still high out of season, and there’s plenty of sunshine, so it may be worth considering a time when the island is less crowded and there are bargains to be had.

Djerba Island Weather – A sunny island escape at any time
Djerba’s location in the Mediterranean south-west of Sicily and Malta and towards the southern border of Tunisia means that the temperature is usually pleasant all year, without the extremes to be found in other Tunisian destinations. There’s virtually no rain at all during the summer and there are unlikely to be two consecutive rainy days in the winter. Although not a particularly hot winter sun destination, there is still lots of sun – around seven hours a day – and the winter months are a pleasant time to enjoy the thalassotherapy treatments, play a round of golf, go sightseeing or just escape winter back home.

Weather on Djerba Island – Mild winters, warm springs, and hot summers
Sunseekers will love summer on Djerba. It is hot, although there should be a sea breeze to cool things down and temperatures do tend to drop by around 10 degrees at night. The sea breezes will also be welcomed by windsurfers. Sea temperatures are around 20° –23°C in summer and remain warm well into autumn. Spring is also a good time to enjoy a beach holiday with daily temperatures reaching an average of 20°C in March, rising to 26° C in May. With so little rain, it is perhaps surprising that so many flowers bloom on Djerba, in addition to the many thousands of date palms and olive trees, and spring will see the island in bloom. What is certain is that a visit to Djerba at any time of year offers a chance to see some sun and recharge the batteries.
