Denia holidays
Denia, the northern-most resort on the Costa Blanca in eastern Spain, is a quiet yet cosmopolitan town with a lively port, offering a relaxing base set against a stunning mountain backdrop. Situated high on a hilltop, Denia is dominated by the towns’ 16th century castle, and continues to be a working village with a thriving fishing industry, offering fantastic sandy beaches and a great choice for a family holiday on the Costa Blanca.

Holidays in Denia – A working fishing village and thriving tourist resort
Spain holidays in Denia are known for its’ 20km stretch of wonderful coastline, incorporating some of the areas’ best beaches. The main beach is the Blue Flag award winning Las Marinas to the north of Denia, which stretches for 15km, its’ long expanse of white sands remaining unspoilt and uncrowded. Also found in the north of the resort is the shingle beach of Les Deveses, its’ craggy coastline a popular spot for windsurfing and sailing, whilst divers and snorkellers prefer the small rocky coves of Las Rotas to the south of Denia. The port at Denia is the hub of the resort, and the departure point for both the large fleet of fishing vessels, and the frequent ferries which make the 2 hour journey over to the nearby Balearic Islands. Don’t miss the fish market at the port where you can buy the fresh catch of the day straight off the boats. The old fishermen’s’ quarter of Denia is full of charm with its’ cobbled streets and whitewashed houses, whilst the modern yacht marina lends the resort a cosmopolitan air.

Holidays in Denia – Enjoy the sandy beaches and surrounding lush green countryside
The medieval town of Denia offers not only wonderful sandy beaches, but plenty of fabulous restaurants offering a combination of international and regional cuisine, and lively nightlife in the centre of town and down at the harbour. Activities such as sailing and scuba-diving are available in Denia and the resort boasts five 18-hole golf courses close by. The lush green countryside, full of orange and lemon groves, is perfect for scenic walks and bike-rides, and the Montgo National Park just outside Denia attracts nature-lovers with its’ flora and fauna. The town of Denia dates back to the Roman times, and the resort still has plenty of important historical buildings, noteably the Torre del Mig Castle, with its’ Roman and Moorish influences, 17th century church and various museums. A scenic railway runs along the coast from Denia to Alicante, and the resort offers plenty of boat trips along the Costa Blanca.
