Beaches
Costa Calma beaches are one of the major highlights of a holiday in Fuerteventura. Playa Sotavento is a perfect example of the beaches in this area; soft white sands that stretch out as far as the eye can see. Playa Sotavento is so large it’s easy to find your own stretch of beach to relax on even during the peak season.
Water Sports
As you would expect from a beach resort with an all year round sunny climate there is no shortage of water sports available in Costa Calma. Windsurfing is a major sport and the Annual World Championships are actually held at Playa Sotavento Beach. Other water sports can include scuba diving, snorkelling, and sailing.

There are a number of taverns, cafes and restaurants in Costa Calma serving traditional and international dishes. El Patio is a small beachside restaurant that serves the best pasta, seafood, and fish dishes in the area and is well worth a visit.
Nightlife
Nightlife in Costa Calma is a laid back affair centring on the hotel bars and restaurants. There are also pubs and late night discos in the area and many English bars to choose from. A trip to nearby Jandia will also provide a number of lively bars and discos especially along the beachfront area.
Day Trips
A day trip to nearby Jandia from Costa Calma is a must. Highlights include hiking through Jandia National Park or renting a jeep and visiting the traditional fishing village of Morro. Don’t miss the chance of a camel ride or spotting the alligators at La Lajita Oasis Park also in Jandia.
Golf
Golf has become a popular pastime during a holiday in Costa Calma and nearby Jandia thanks to the year round sunny climate and spectacular scenery. There are several golf courses in the area all providing excellent facilities and lessons for beginners.
