Holidays in Costa Calma Costa Calma, situated on the south coast of Fuerteventura on the Jandia peninsula, is a quiet resort, set amongst some stunningly beautiful surroundings. This purpose-built resort is relatively new to tourism, established when a major road was built in the mid-80’s, providing access to the area and linking it with the north of the island. Costa Calma sees some strong off-shore winds during the summer months, and is therefore a haven for windsurfers, who flock to Fuerteventura for its’ ideal conditions. A favourite with German holidaymakers, Costa Calma is a perfect resort for those in search of seclusion and relaxation, and is popular with couples, especially honeymooners.

The main beach of Costa Calma is Playa de Sotavento, with fine white sand gently shelving into the calm waters of the Atlantic, great for swimming in, and with a small number of facilities including sunbeds and umbrellas. Costa Calma has a good selection of hotels and apartments spread throughout the resort, with the smarter ones having prime location near the beach, and various convenient shopping centres for those holiday essentials and souvenirs.
