Cosmos holidays has added approximately 300 maps and videos for hotels and destinations to its website and that of Somewhere2stay.com. The hotels featured are those from across the Mediterranean and include promotional film clips of some popular long-haul destinations.
Cosmos commercial and product director Stuart Jackson has stated that the hotels with videos included were outselling those without, although he did stress that they were already amongst the top selling Cosmos hotels. Cosmos are using the videos to monitor website behaviour, adding tags to them for analysis purposes. Up until now, the only videos featured on the Cosmos site were for more specialist destinations such as Lapland.
Usability is also being improved on the Cosmos site as they seek to ensure the recently added applications are easy for customers to find. Jackson added that the plan was to create a dedicated section within the Cosmos website where all included properties and destinations have videos.
