Corralejo holidays Corralejo, situated on the north coast of Fuerteventura, is the main tourist resort on the island, attracting many with its’ great beaches, year-round sun, lively atmosphere and beautiful surrounding countryside. Originally a sleepy fishing village, Corralejo has seen plenty of development throughout the years, yet has still managed to retain its’ charm and authenticity as a harbour town, making it a hugely popular destination.
Holidays in Corralejo – Visit the wonderful sandy beach Corralejo is home to a town beach right next to the central promenade, a small sheltered spot with golden sands, ideally placed right next to all the waterfront bars and restaurants. Many tourists, however, head straight for Grandes Playas, just 3km away from Corralejo, a glorious white sandy beach, with crystal clear waters, stretching for 10km along secluded sand dunes. This area is now a protected nature reserve, and a great place for some undisturbed sunbathing. Corralejo is home to a wealth of shops, with the main street selling a wide range of goods, and the many original waterfront buildings now housing quaint bars, restaurants and cafes. The harbour at Corralejo is the bustling hub of the resort, with ferries constantly departing and arriving with boatloads of tourists, making the trip up and down the coastline, with one of the most popular routes being the 45 minute journey across to the neighbouring island of Lanzarote.
Holidays in Corralejo – Something for everyone The nightlife in Corralejo is fairly lively, catering to the many tourists, with plenty of English and Irish bars, and lots of places, both on the waterfront and in the pedestrian square, playing live music well into the early hours. Like most resorts on Fuerteventura, the hotels provide plenty of entertainment for guests, with most things being fairly family-orientated. Restaurants in Corralejo serve a wide variety of international fare, and many places offer wonderful views from the front.
