Corfu Town Weather

As a holiday location, Corfu Town really does have it all. It is a cosmopolitan city mixing the old and new. It has easy access to numerous Greek sightseeing locations, fabulous beaches and has a fantastic climate. Peak summer temperatures will hover just over the 30C mark, although this has been known to rise to 40C on occasion. The climate is typically Mediterranean meaning long hot summers and short mild winters. Rainfall during the summer months will be rare and humidity levels are relatively low. Winters will also be warm and sunny although short-lived thunderstorms are not uncommon during this season.

 

Summers in Corfu Town are nothing if not gloriously hot. The summer season begins in May and stretches until the end of October. By mid May the temperature will be heading over the 25C mark and will reach its peak during July and August. Sunshine levels are high, and holiday makers can expect around 12 hours of hot sunshine per day during the summer. This is one of the best times to hit the beaches at Corfu Town and the nearby resorts of Benitses, Dassia and Gouvia.

Holiday makers who prefer slightly cooler temperatures should consider a holiday in Corfu during the pleasant spring and autumn months. The spring and autumn seasons have a more relaxed atmosphere and the weather will be warm at around 20C. Spring and autumn are the perfect seasons to explore Corfu Town and the island itself. Winter holidays in Corfu Town are mild at around 15C with four hours of sunshine per day, and although rainfall levels will be higher there will still be plenty of warm sunny days to enjoy.
