Weather in Cofresi - Located on north coast of the Dominican Republic
The beach resort of Cofresi lies on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic, 10km from the city of Puerto Plata. Enjoying a sub-tropical climate and an average annual temperature of 25C, Cofresi is an ideal spot on the island for a quiet and relaxing beach holiday. Humidity levels remain around 80% throughout the year, dipping slightly during the winter months - the most popular time to visit. The months of January to April see the best conditions in terms of sunshine, minimal rainfall and lower humidity.
Cofresi Weather - Ideal diving conditions, clear warm seas
The winter months see very warm weather and plenty of sunshine, usually at least 6 hours each day. Temperatures in November hover around 25C, and then drop to 22C - 23C between December to February. The sea is warm throughout the year, with the water temperature at 26C in January and February, and rising to 26C in the spring. The location of Cofresi being on the north coast means that it sees more rain than the southern resorts, with November and December being the wettest months, with up to 246mm of rainfall each, usually in the form of short but intense showers.
Weather in Cofresi - Warm winters, hot humid summers
Summers see highs of 26C - 27C, 8 hours of sunshine, and water temperatures of up to 29C in August. Humidity levels are highest during this time, and the hurricane season on the island runs from August to September.
