Weather in Cocoa Beach - Florida sunshine on the Atlantic Coast
Cocoa Beach sits in the middle of the east coast of Florida, on the Atlantic Ocean. The resort is 20km from the Kennedy Space Centre, and 60 miles east of Orlando, and offers a good combination of relaxing beaches and interesting sights and attractions. The resort has a subtropical climate and, like the rest of Florida, experiences hot humid summers and pleasant warm winters.
Cocoa Beach Weather - Sunny winter days with warm temperatures
There are two seasons in Cocoa Beach - a dry warm season running from November to April, and a hot rainy season from May to October. Winter sees temperatures of 20C - 23C, and 7-8 hours of sunshine, whilst the spring is an excellent time to visit Cocoa Beach, with highs of 26C - 28C, and 9 hours of sun. A major surfing centre, the waters of Cocoa Beach reach warm temperatures of 24C - 26C in the spring and winter, and rise to 29C during the summer. Winters are the driest time in Cocoa Beach, receiving 45mm - 80mm from December to February.
Weather in Cocoa Beach - Hot humid summers, daily thunderstorms
The temperature increases to 30C in June, rising to 31C in July and August - with 9 hours of sunshine. Summer sees increased rainfall, with June to August receiving 110mm of rain, and the wettest month of September seeing 170mm. The rain comes in the form of heavy, but short-lived, thunderstorms each afternoon and the days are extremely humid. August and September sees the highest risk of hurricanes in Cocoa Beach.
