Cha Am Things To Do

Kaeng Krachan National Park
Fancy a proper adventure in Thailand? Head for Kaeng Krachan National Park’s Burma border and visit the stunning Pala u twin waterfalls in the jungle just west of Hua-Hin

The Pink Flamingo
For a very lively night out, hit Narotip Road and follow the noise to the Pink Flamingo, a sports and music bar with pool tables, darts, a telly, real (very cheap) beer, singers, karaoke and loads more.

North Cha Am
North Cha Am is packed with restaurants of all sorts and is very crowded at weekends, popular with locals as well as tourists. The huge, long beach at North Cha Am gives you plenty of space to escape and find some peace and quiet. This is great for relaxed walks, day or night.

Beach and Water Sports
The public area of Cha Am Beach is the place to go for water sports and fun stuff in and around the water. Try Jet Skiing or grab a banana boat if you’re hard enough! Local Thai families like it here too, so it’s always lively and vibrant.

The Palace of Love and Hope
The deliciously beautiful Maruk Khatayawan Palace, in King Rama 6 Military Camp, was King Rama the Sixth's summer home back in the opulent 1920s. This stunning palace is all golden teak and cool, shadowy corridors facing the blue sea. Hang out in the flower-filled gardens or stroll down to the nearby beach.

Southern Cha Am
The beach here is generally much quieter than the northern end, with a sloping beach and a rockier shoreline, but worthwhile for the personal space. Cha Am view point is a marvellous place to watch the sun go down over the sparkling sea, and is also the venue for Cha Am’s many festivals.

Bikes
Explore by bike and see more of the surrounding countryside. There are masses of hire stands all along the seafront for bicycles, motorbikes and scooters.

Sam Roi Yod National Park and Pharja Nakhon Cave
This fabulous national park is full of quaint traditional fishing villages, misty exotic islands and fantastic deserted beaches, not to mention the famous Pharja Nakhon limestone caves. Head this way for a veritable feast of mountains, rare wildlife and colourful birds.

Petchburi Palace
Petchburi Palace is an amazing place, worth a visit and convenient for Khao Luang caves, home to one hundred and seventy sacred statues of Buddha.
