Cavtat Things To Do
Promenade
Cavtat’s promenade is a beautiful palm-fringed strip of pavement cafes, lively bars, and traditional restaurants, making it a popular spot with holiday makers and locals. Take the time to people watch from one of the café terraces along the promenade and pick up a tan at the same time.
Beaches
The beautiful pebble beaches in Cavtat along with the crystal clear waters are perfect for sunbathing, swimming and taking part in the numerous water sports that are popular in the area. Windsurfing, snorkelling and diving are all regular pastimes along the many beach area in Cavtat.
Dubrovnik
Take a short taxi-boat from Cavtat and you will find yourself in the bustling city of Dubrovnik. Once here you can check out the numerous shops, art galleries and historical monuments. During the summer Dubrovnik holds host to a six week open air drama and music festival.
Nightlife
The main promenade in Cavtat has an abundance of great bars and restaurants but away from the promenade you can still find a wealth of nightlife attractions. The resort has many local taverns, discos and casinos, most of which are open until the small hours.
Sports
As well as the numerous water activities available such as water skiing, windsurfing and scuba diving, land based sports enthusiasts are well catered for in Cavtat. Sports in Cavtat include tennis, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, football and bowls. There are also fitness centres with well equipped gyms at most of the resort hotels.
Historic Sites
Culture lovers will find plenty of interest in the historic sites of Cavtat. Visit the impressive Racic Mausoleum high above the town or step back in time to the Monastery of Our Lady of the Snow. You can also view the paintings of the Cavtat born artist Vlaho Bukovac at three different locations in Cavtat.
