Cavelossim Things To Do

Beaches
Goa is renowned for its miles of spectacular beaches and Cavelossim is possibly the most beautiful of all. Perfect, soft white sand is gently washed by clear sea and punctuated by beach shacks offering a mouth-watering selection of Goan dishes, delicious seafood and souvenirs and local crafts.
Dolphin Watching & Wildlife
Cavelossim is famous for its friendly dolphins and you can book boat trips here to go out and see them at close quarters. You may even be able to touch them. There are also leisurely river trips, fishing expeditions and plenty to excite bird-watchers.

Ayurvedic Massages
Ayurveda means the Science of Life and is the ancient Indian healing system. As well as being extremely relaxing, Ayurvedic massage, offered at a number of resorts, hotels and health centres locally, is intended to eliminate toxins and rejuvenate the body.

Water sports
Cavelossim’s superb location between the Sal River and Arabian Sea is ideal for a romantic getaway, but there’s also plenty of room for paragliding, banana boats, water scooters, kayaking and catamaran sailing with scuba diving nearby.

Nightlife
Cavelossim may be a relatively quiet, upmarket resort but its beach shacks, restaurants and taverns, as well as beach and hotel parties and fireworks, make for quite a lively feel. If this isn’t enough, Nightspots and casinos in Goa are only a short taxi ride away.

Panaji
Panaji, located at the mouth of the Mandovi River, is a place to get lost in. The pleasant narrow streets with charming houses are a touch of the Mediterranean transported to the Indian Ocean.

Old Goa
The Churches and Convents of Goa have been declared a World Heritage Site. In the 16th and 17th centuries when the Portuguese created these magnificent Renaissance and Baroque buildings, Goa was one of the world’s great cities, with a population greater than London’s. In addition to the impressive facades and decorative carvings, visitors will find the tomb of St Francis Xavier, the famous missionary, whose remains are enshrined in the Basilica of Bom Jesus.

Chandor
A trip of little more than 10 miles will take you back to colonial times. The 17th century Braganza House is open daily. Now split into two wings, it has marble floors, teak ceilings, chandeliers, beautiful furniture and is still occupied by branches of the Braganza family. The nearby Fernandes House may not be as grand but it is older and has plenty of history.
