Weather in Castries
Castries offers typical Caribbean weather with virtually guaranteed sunshine and consistent temperatures all year round. Its position on the north-west coast of St Lucia means that it is sheltered from the prevailing winds and the sea is warm and calmer than the east coast. Average high temperatures stay within one or two degrees of 30°C at all times, the sea temperature stay between 26° and 29°C and there’s an average of at least eight hours of sunshine every day, making this an ideal location for anyone looking for a beach holiday in a romantic tropical destination.

Castries weather - Tropical sunshine for an idyllic winter holiday
Castries is a perfect winter sun destination. The island is hilly and has rain most of the year but the wettest months are July to November. However, rain tends to fall in short, heavy bursts and after ten minutes or so it has usually stopped and the warm sun is shining once more from a clear blue sky. St Lucia is within the Caribbean hurricane zone so, although hurricanes are fairly rare here and holidaymakers still come, anyone thinking of visiting Castries between June and November should take advice.

Weather in Castries – Hot and sunny on St Lucia’s Caribbean coast
The weather in Castries can be humid but the gentle breeze from the northeast trade winds helps keep it comfortable and the temperature does tend to drop in the evenings. This is a tropical island, of course, and without the humidity there wouldn’t be the incredible lush beauty of the rainforest with its explosion of colour and birds of paradise in the island’s interior. The best months for people who want to avoid the humidity are December through to March. Whatever time of year you choose to visit, however, Castries is guaranteed to be warm with the Caribbean washing its shores and the sun shining down – even in the so-called rainy season.
