Castelo is a fairly isolated resort, and regarded as one of the best cove beaches in the area. Comprised of a series of small cove beaches, the small stretches of fine sand are accessed by a short path, shelving gently into the sea and protected by some stunning cliffs. Children will delight in exploring Castelo beach, with its’ amazing odd-shaped rock formations, numerous blowholes and grottoes, and there is plenty of shade and a beach bar for much-needed refreshment. The cliffs along the coast at Castelo provide a wealth of scenic walks and hikes, heading west in the direction of Evista, or east towards Coelha.
