Cascais Weather

The weather conditions in Cascais start to warm up in March. While here in the UK we’re wrapping up warm, getting wet and blown around by the wind, they’re enjoying average temperatures of 18C. By May it averages 23C and from there onwards it climbs to 25C in June, a scorching 28C in July and August, falling back to 27C in September. Average sunshine in Cascais during the peak season hits 10 – 11 hours a day – perfect summer holiday weather. July and August are the driest months, with rain falling on an average two days in each month. In June and July it rains on five days each month, still not bad! 

 

Because the weather in Cascais is comfortably warm most of the year, the sea never gets that cold. It isn’t that warm either, but what a lovely contrast to all that sun! During late summer the sea reaches about 20C but in June it averages 18C. During July and August there are moderate amounts of humidity, but nothing uncomfortable. July and August are driest with only 2mm of rain falling during each. So summer holidays in Cascais can offer almost guaranteed wonderful weather as long as you stick to the peak season.

You’ll love the winter weather in Cascais, what there is of it. You’ll never see frost unless you’re extremely unlucky, and it rarely falls below 12C even in the coldest months. Winter temperatures in Cascais at night hit an average of 11C in November, 9C in December, and 8C in January, the coldest month. During the winter it can rain about one day in two or three, averaging 15 days with some rain in January, a few less during February, March, November and December. Summer holidays in Cascais are probably your best bet.
