Candolim Things To Do

The famous Candolim beach is a 7km swathe of white sand beside the warm Arabian Sea. The beach is more relaxed and less crowded than other Goan beaches so there will be problem stretching out and relaxing in the warm sunshine.

You are spoilt for choice with the restaurants available in Candolim. Seafood is a speciality but look out for the delicious steaks at the famous Moonlight Restaurant. Goan cuisine is of course popular but there is also Tibetan, Chinese, Thai and European options available.

 

A visit to the 1612 Portuguese Fort Aguada is well worth a visit especially for the spectacular views of the River Mandovi and Panjim City. Day trips to Anjuna are also a must and the famous Wednesday flea market that attracts visitors from around the world should not be missed. Chapora harbour is worth spending a day at and you can try the best seafood dishes at the restaurants along the harbour.

 

Diving is one of the most popular water sports in Goa and there are plenty of diving opportunities in Candolim. The underwater scenery is spectacular, and marine life will include sharks, turtles and barracuda. Diving around sunken Spanish and Portuguese wrecks is also another must try experience. The nightlife in Candolim is a laid back affair with beach bars, pubs and beach parties the norm in this area. Baga and Calangute are livelier options if you want to mix with the backpackers and dance into the small hours.

 

As you would expect from a beach resort there is no shortage of water activities available in Candolim. Try your hand at parasailing, jet-skiing and wind-surfing. For some thrilling adventure tours take a guided boat trip where you can spot crocodiles and dolphins, or try your luck on one the many fishing expeditions.
