Our Review of the Canaries...
There is little doubt that the immense popularity of the Canaries is down to fine beaches and the warm, sunny location off the coast of Africa. The fantastic climate makes the Canaries a top destination for winter sun holidays close to home. In many ways the Canaries encapsulate the attraction of mainland Spain, but with even better weather! Attractive resorts, superb beaches, relaxation, great value restaurants, children’s attractions, enjoyable nightlife and cheap family package holidays. The Canaries are renowned for windsurfing, diving, golf and walking. The islands have amazingly different landscapes and personalities. Tenerife and Gran Canaria are the most developed and most popular islands. Tenerife offers a wide range of contrasting resorts and nightlife, and the astonishing Teide volcano. Gran Canaria has an amazing mix of beautiful scenery and classic beach resorts. Volcanic Lanzarote offers some of the best beaches in the Canaries and an extraordinary volcanic lunar landscape. Fuerteventura is a sunbather’s paradise with year-round sunshine. La Palma is an exceptionally beautiful, quiet island ideal for walking holidays. The charming tiny islands of Gomera and Hierro are wonderfully scenic and a world away from the busy resorts of Tenerife. The variety of resorts and islands ensure the Canaries really do offer something for all ages and all tastes.
