Calvi lies on the northwest corner of Corsica, and enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and dry winters. The resort sits on the coast and sees good conditions for a beach holiday, with 12 hours of sunshine and limited rainfall during the summer.
 
Calvi Weather - Travel in the summer months for warm dry days, plenty of sunshine
The best months to travel to Calvi are the summer months between June and September. During this time, Calvi enjoys a pleasant average temperature of 22C, but temperatures can reach as high as 29C. Summers see a maximum of 12 hours of sunshine a day during July, with up to 10 hours in May, and 9 in September. The water temperature in Calvi does not tend to warm up until June, when it averages around 20C, rising to 24C in August. Summers are mainly dry, with May seeing an average of 46mm, July 12mm and September 54mm. Winters are generally mild, with lows in January and February dipping down to 9C, and the resort seeing 4 hours of sunshine. November is the wettest month in Calvi, receiving the most rain - up to 10cm.
 
Weather in Calvi - Coastal winds, good for water sports
Calvi also does see some coastal winds, as does the whole island, making the area ideal for water sports, such as windsurfing and sailing. The hot summers offer perfect conditions for a beach holiday, and visitors can escape the high temperatures in July and August by heading inland to the countryside and scenic mountains. Spring and autumn sees the best conditions for walking, hiking, biking and horse riding, seeing temperatures of between 16C - 21C.
