Holidays in Calella de la Costa are based in the most popular beach resort on the Costa del Maresme at the southern end of the Costa Brava, 10 miles south of Lloret de Mar, 31 miles from Gerona airport and just 44 miles north east of Barcelona. The three Calella beaches, Gran de Calella, Garbi and Les Roques, have small open-air kiosks serving refreshments and stretch for around two miles alongside an attractive seafront promenade. Buses run north to the immensely popular resort of Lloret de Mar. Calella holidays offer dozens of excursions, with children well-catered for at Waterworld, the dolphinarium at Blanes and the exciting Port Aventura theme park. Holidays in Calella could also include first rate golf. Other worthwhile Calella holiday excursions include the monastery at Montserrat and the lovely medieval walled centre of Gerona. Trains are a superb and economical way to visit the fabulous city of Barcelona and local ferries run along the coast to Tossa de Mar.
