Calas de Majorca Things To Do

The beaches in Calas de Majorca are the focus of daytime activities. There are three beaches all with excellent water sports facilities. The largest beach is Cala Domingos, which has been awarded the European Blue Flag for cleanliness. These beaches are all suitable for families and children, although care must be taken with the strong undercurrents in the waters.

 

There are a number of good restaurants in Calas de Majorca. As you would expect from a coastal resort the seafood and fish restaurants are very popular. There are also international and traditional Majorcan restaurants that have a great family atmosphere, and the staff welcome holiday makers like old friends.

Taking a boat trip from Calas de Majorca along the coast is an experience to remember. There are glass bottom boats available as well as sailing boats that will stop at Porto Cristo to allow exploration of the amazing Caves of Drach. The east coast with its fjord like appearance is a must see and trips will provide the chance to stop of at secluded beaches and coves for a swim.

 

Calas de Majorca is ideally located to visit a number of sightseeing attractions. The Caves of Drach and the Caves of Ham with its underground lake are a must see. Children will love the Aquarium de Mallorca that boasts numerous exotic fish including piranhas and electric eels. The Exotic Parque Los Parajos with its gardens, children’s zoo and performing parrots makes for another great family day out.

Nightlife
Nightlife in Calas de Majorca is a low key affair but things can sometimes liven at the hotel discos and bars. There are late night bars and discos in the resort centre, some of which do not close until 6am. The famous Jupiter’s Discos and Pubs do not usually get started until midnight and will only wind down once the sun starts to come up.
