Beach
Calas has a choice of three sandy coves for sunbathing and swimming, with the largest - Cala Domingos - a Blue Flag beach. The beaches have clear clean water and shallow seas, however swimmers should be aware of a strong undertow along the island's east coast. All three beaches are linked by road train.
Water Sports
Sports to enjoy on the beach at Calas include windsurfing, scuba diving, snorkelling and kayaking, and there are a number of boat trips to take, including glass-bottomed boats which run along the coastline, stopping at remote beaches and bays.
Families
Children will enjoy the local adventure playground, with its trampolines, go-carts and bouncy castle, whilst Tropical Park Jumaica, with its lush gardens and exotic birds, the Exotic Parque de Pajaros, home to a zoo and performing parrots, and the local aquarium all offer fun family days out.
Countryside
Located on a clifftop, there are scenic coastal paths to follow which link the beaches, and the surrounding countryside of Majorca can be explored on foot, horseback or by bike.
Shopping
The nearby town of Felanitx boasts one of the best markets on Majorca, which is held on a Sunday morning and offers a great choice of locally-made goods, ideal for gifts and souvenirs.
Day Trips
Visitors can tour the Caves of Hams and the Caves of Drach which are both nearby, whilst Manacor, home of the local artificial pearl production in Majorca, offers tours of the factory where they are made. Although plenty of local buses make the journey to Porto Cristo and Palma, hiring a rental car is an ideal choice for exploring the east coast of the island.
