Calangute Weather

Calangute is one of the world’s top sunshine destinations, and with an average year round temperature of 30C it is not hard to see why. The temperature in Calangute will not usually dip below 30C at any time of the year but there are three distinct seasons. The dry season stretches from late October through April with the festive period being one of the most popular times of the year. From May to September the temperatures in Calangute can hit as high as 35C and above and there will be a slight chance of rain. Monsoon season in Calangute lasts from June through September, and although the rainfall will be heavy the heat will still be over the 30C mark.

 

If you love your days to be filled with blue skies and continual sunshine then the weather in Calangute will be hard to beat. The weather is guaranteed to be hot all year round and the sunshine levels will be high. Calangute is blessed with around nine hours of sunshine per day from April through October and does not dip much below this level at any time of the year. There is very little difference in the sea and air temperatures making the Arabian Sea a joy to swim, snorkel and dive in. The beaches at Calangute and nearby Anjuna, Baga, and Vagator will be busy with holiday makers sun-bathing on the white sands.

 

Christmas and New Year are one of the busiest holiday periods thanks to the glorious weather in Calangute. The chance to escape Britain’s cold and catch a winter tan is an opportunity not to be missed. The temperature in Calangute at this time of year will head over the 32C mark with the sun shining down for nine hours per day. The evenings will also be warm, and light clothing will be all that is required for much of the year in this sunshine location.
