Cala n Blanes Weather

It is hardly surprising that this famous holiday destination has the perfect weather for a Mediterranean beach holiday. During the summer months you can be lying on Cala n Blanes white sandy beach in temperatures that average 24C, reaching a wonderfully hot 28C in August. The serious tanners amongst you will be pleased to hear that you can expect a long, full day of bronzing with summer sunshine hours being between 11 – 12 hours! Cala n Blanes enjoys long summers with beach weather running from at least May to October meaning that it is the perfect destination for both the family holiday and a more romantic break.

 

Although you are guaranteed some serious summer weather, you can expect the temperature to feel comfortable thanks to the constant sea breezes. Menorca is known locally as ‘the windy island’ due to the face that it has no less than eight prevailing winds. A holiday in Cala n Blanes doesn’t escape these cooling breezes and they help maintain a much more pleasurable temperature. Should you need a little extra help cooling off, the Mediterranean is extremely pleasant and perfect for all water activities from swimming to SCUBA diving.

 

Cala n Blanes isn’t just a glorious summer destination. Over the winter months, temperatures rarely drop below 12C giving a year round average of 16C, plus you can still expect plenty of sunshine with 5 – 6 hours per day. The spring and autumn months see temperatures of approximately 14C – 18C but the autumn does tend to be slightly wetter with the highest rainfall of the whole year. If you are planning on coming to the area to enjoy more of a hiking or sightseeing trip you may want to consider avoiding those very hot summer months.
