Cala Santandria Things To Do
Beaches
The sandy Blue Flag beach at Cala Santandria is located on a sheltered bay, and offers a number of loungers, chairs and umbrellas for guests, as well as a selection of convenient beach bars. Other beaches in the area include Cala Blanca and Sa Caleta.
Water Sports
Pedalos, windsurfing, jet skiing, parasailing, surfing and snorkelling can be enjoyed on the beach, and there is a local dive school here. For more choice, go to Cala'n Bosch for more extensive water sports and sailing.
Boat Trips
Visitors can enjoy the many scenic boat trips that depart for quiet coves and hidden beaches, or offer island tours around the coast of Menorca, as well as fishing trips.
Golf
The island's only golf course at Son Bou is centrally located on Menorca, and a short distance from Cala Santandria. There is also mini golf in the resort for some family fun.
Walking & Hiking
The area is ideal for both country and coastal walking tours, with visitors choosing from cliff top trails with stunning coastal views, and inland paths passing through whitewashed villages, windmills and ancient forts and castles.
Horse Riding & Hiking
Menorca's terrain is ideal for exploring on horseback, and the nearby stables at Cala'n Bosch offer horse riding and treks along the coast or through the countryside. The relatively flat landscape is also perfect for cyclists, and mountain bikes can be rented for both leisurely scenic rides and challenging expeditions around the island.
Water Parks
There are two water parks to visit for family entertainment - the Aqua Centre Water Park in Cala'n Forcat and the Aqua Rock Menorca in Cala'n Bosch, with both being easy day trips from Cala Santandria.
Day Trips
Cala Santandria is close to the Moorish town of Cuitadella, and the Old Town with its charming cobbled streets and period architecture offers an insight into the island's history and culture. The capital Mahon is slightly further, but a worthwhile day trip, with good shopping and fish restaurants, a famous gin distillery, and boat trips around the harbour available.
