Cala Galdana Weather

The beach resort of Cala Galdana lies on the south coast of Menorca, and enjoys a clifftop location atop a scenic horseshoe-shaped bay, just 25 minutes from the capital, Mahon. The whole island experiences a typically Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and mild winters, and enjoys an average summer temperature of 26C.

Spring temperatures in Cala Galdana hover around 17C - 21C, with the pleasant warm weather seeing between 7 - 9 hours of sunshine each day. Rain is fairly limited, with around 30mm - 50mm falling during April and May, and the weather is ideal for outdoor activities and sightseeing. The temperatures rise in June, reaching 25C and peaking at 28C in July and August, with up to 11 hours of daily sunshine. During the summer months, conditions are ideal for relaxing on the beach and sunbathing, and for family trips out along the coast. Humidity increases during the peak season months, but the levels are still moderate in Cala Galdana, where the coastal breezes help to temper the heat. Water temperatures reach 25C in July and August, creating ideal conditions for swimming and the many water sports available here. 

 

The weather remains warm in the autumn months, with September and October seeing highs of 22C - 26C, and up to 8 hours of sunshine - great for biking, tennis and golf. October sees the most rainfall in Cala Galdana, with over 100mm each month, and the temperatures begin dropping in November, the off-season period, dipping down to 14C in January and February.
