Cala Dor Things To Do

things to do in Cal Dor
The Calas
A week’s holiday in Cala Dor is long enough to sample the many rocky coves and small sandy beaches known locally as calas. The most popular is Cala Gran, which has the largest expanse of sand, safe swimming and sheltered sunbathing. There is a children’s playground and a choice of restaurants. Cala de sa Torreis, with its 17th century watchtower, is more secluded.  Pretty Cala des Homos Morts is visited by local tour boats. You could also try Cala de ses Dones, tiny Cala de ses Egos, and Cala des Pou near the marina. Cosy Cala Esmeralda remains relatively undeveloped. For something wilder take the morning bus to Es Trenc, a gloriously long beach popular with nudists.

Shopping & Dining
The best choice of shops, bars and restaurants is found in the pedestrian streets around Cala Gran. All the Calas offer a choice of dining options. The marina at Cala LLonga is also worth a visit for restaurants and bars. Avinguda Tagomago is the best shopping street for designer fashion, leather goods and local art and crafts. There is an enjoyable Sunday morning market at Felanitz. Pottery is a good buy. The Wednesday and Saturday food market in Santanyi is also fun. Cala D'Or is a relaxed family resort, but you will find live music and lively pubs at Cala Gran.
