Monday, 17 March 2008

british airways flightsBritish Airways is currently preparing for the first passenger service arrival of an Airbus A380 into a UK airport tomorrow. The A380 is due to land at tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday), at 15:15 and will be operated by Singapore airlines.

BA will be the first UK airline t operate the double-decker aircraft and will also hold the highest presence of A380’s at Heathrow. It is expected that by 2014, BA will have 200 A380 pilots in service.

British Airways commercial director Robert Boyle said: “Just as Terminal 5 enables us to improve the customer experience on the ground, the A380 will give us the opportunity to raise standards in all cabins.”

“We see the A380 as a catalyst for change, and our goal will be to offer the very best of onboard hospitality and overall journey experience.”

The Airbus A380 is the world's largest airliner, surpassing even the Boeing 747-400 by a significant amount. In the future, BA is considering the possibility to operate A380 flights from long haul destinations such as Singapore, Hong Kong and Johannesburg.
