Boca Chica in on the south coast of the Dominican Republic, 10 miles to the east of La Romana Airport and a little further to the capital city of Santo Domingo. Boca Chica beach sits in lagoon protected by a reef with tranquil blue waters and white sand backed by tropical vegetation and palms. It’s a perfect beach for family holidays due to the calm sea and shallow waters. The beach gets lively at weekends. Boca Chica has a choice of water sports including windsurfing, diving, jet skiing, water-skiing and sailing.

All-inclusive holidays in Boca Chica are popular with UK visitors but there is a good choice of restaurants offering cosmopolitan cuisine and locally caught seafood. Boca Chica has several discos, late-night bars and live shows and bands appear at bigger hotels. A short drive west of Boca Chica is the slightly wilder water at Playa Caribe, a small horseshoe bay that offers a nice, if small, beach. Further to the west are the towns of Guayacanes and Juan Dolio. A bus will take you directly into Santo Domingo with its Spanish colonial architecture and world class shopping.
