Bled Weather

The Alpine resort of Bled boasts a climate of long hot summers and cool winters. The beauty of these seasonal changes is that Bled can either be a sunny summer holiday destination or a winter ski resort. The summer season in Bled runs from June through to the end of August and temperatures do reach up to and sometimes over 27C. Rainfall is distributed evenly throughout the year and should not spoil any summer holiday in Bled. The high altitude of this resort means that the summer heat never becomes unbearable and is perfect for the numerous sports activities this region of Slovenia is famous for.

 

One of Bled’s main attractions is the magnificent glacial lake that changes with the seasons. During the summer the lake is warm enough to swim in while the winter turns the lake into a giant ice skating rink. The high altitude means that evenings can be slightly chilly at any time of the year and light summer clothing will be needed. Autumn in Bled stretches from September to November and temperatures do drop to just under the 20C mark. However, there are still plenty of warm sunny days to be enjoyed and rainfall can be moderate.

 

The end of November will bring frost to Bled and December through to February will see temperatures drop to around 5C. The snow covered mountain scenery is spectacular and the ski season gets fully underway. The month of March brings the end of the ski season and the start of warmer weather. By the end of April the temperature in Bled will head towards the 20C mark and the countryside will begin to bloom. Spring can bring heavy rainfall but will also bring many warm days and around six hours of sunshine per day.
