Bled Things To Do

Often described as the ideal location for a fairy tale Lake Bled is surrounding by forests and a spectacular mountain backdrop; it even boasts its own fairytale castle. Gondola trips along the river are one of the best ways to spend an afternoon, and a visit to the lake’s little island to view the Church of St Mary is a must. Lake Bled is regarded as one of the most relaxing and scenic locations in Europe.

 

Sports activities are available on a holiday in Bled, all year round. During the summer there is swimming, boating, fishing and windsurfing on Lake Bled. Skiing and snowboarding is available during the winter season from December until March. Lake Bled can also freeze during the winter months to create an immense ice skating rink. The magnificent scenery around Lake Bled makes this region of Slovenia a walker’s dream. Bled is also the access point for the Triglav National Park that boasts some incredibly romantic picture postcard scenery. Vingar Gorge set deep in the park and the 60 meter Savica Waterfall are amazing sights. Climbing the 2864 meter Triglav Mountain will usually take two nights but some have been known to achieve this hike in a day.
