Bijilo Weather

Bijilo is the definition of a sunshine holiday destination boasting spectacular beaches and an abundance of sunshine all year round. Temperatures here rarely dip below the 30C mark no matter which month holiday makers choose to visit. Bijilo is located on Gambia’s southern coastline, famed for its beaches and excellent climate. November through June is considered the best time to holiday in Bijilo when rainfall and humidity levels are low. Rainfall will usually appear from the end of June until the end of October but can appear in the form of short lived rain bursts during the night.

 

Holiday makers who love high temperatures should consider the months between February and June. Temperatures here can head to around 35C at this time of the year and the sun will be shining down for around 10 hours per day. Swimming in the warm Atlantic Ocean is a pleasure all year round, and the beach resorts of Bijilo and nearby Kololi and Kuto will be busy at this time of the year. Those who find the heat too intense will welcome the cooling ocean breezes that drift over the coastline throughout the day. At around 18C, evening temperatures are also warm at this time of the year and light clothing will be all that is required.

 

Although Bijilo does have its rainy season between late June and October this will not dampen the temperatures. Any rainfall will soon be dried up and this is the perfect time to pick up an off season bargain. June and October will see slightly less rainfall but humidity levels will be higher during these months. Those who prefer slightly cooler temperatures should consider a holiday here during December and January when temperatures will hover around the 30C mark and humidity levels are low.
