Relax on a gorgeous Goan beach
There are plenty of things to do in Betalbatim aside from lie and relax on the beautiful, spotless, chilled beach. Betalbatim is one of the quietest and least commercialised beaches in Goa so you’ll enjoy a marvellously peaceful time. The Betalbatim coastline is lapped by warm seas, edged with palms and features the area’s typical blazing pure white sands. Lovely!
Cycling and exploring on foot
Holidaymakers enjoy cycling and walking and around Betalbatim, even though it can get very hot. Just take things at a slower pace than you would at home. Hire a bike and head inland to explore the region’s many tiny villages, all very friendly and welcoming. There are loads of little back roads, practically traffic-free, to cycle and walk along, and you’ll see some beautiful Goan countryside.
Restaurants and bars
Things to do in and around Betalbatim include a great choice of fun and lively or quiet and intimate bars and restaurants. Sit and watch the dusk fall outside, overlooking the beach with an ice cold drink and some delicious locally-caught seafood, for a true taste of Goa. Try Martins Corner restaurant, or the Fusion and the Crab Key restaurants right on the beach at Majorda.
Take a train and tour the Golden Triangle
There’s a main railway line nearby and, if you’re in Goa for long enough, you can the train and tour the Golden Triangle taking in Jaipur, Delhi and Agra. You can also catch a bus into a huge variety of Indian towns and cities.
The spice plantation and waterfalls
Book yourself an exciting tour to a local spice plantation, visit stunning waterfalls, enjoy riverboat tours and much more. Many of the tours around Betalbatim are government-arranged. The best place to book is probably at the nearest tourist office in Colva, about six miles away; a lovely walk that’ll take you about an hour and a half to dawdle at your leisure! Most tours depart from Colva itself.
Casino!
The enormous, exclusive Majorda Beach hotel is close by to Betalbatim and has a Casino if you fancy a spot of western-style luxury.
Wonderful wildlife
If you’re a wildlife fan, take your binoculars! You’ll see vivid, noisy parrots flying in the wild and you’ll run across all sorts of exotic flora and fauna.
