Bermuda Things To Do
Beaches
The beaches of Bermuda are the main attraction, with the island famous for it's pink or coral-coloured sands. There's a great range of beaches to visit, with most of the idyllic stretches having shallow sandy bottoms ideal for swimming, and many sheltered spots amongst the cliffs for sunbathing.
Scuba Diving
Scuba diving is very popular in Bermuda, and there are a number of exciting dive sites around the island, with coral reefs, underwater grottoes and plenty of shipwrecks to explore. Visibility is exceptional and the waters are generally very shallow, with many sites even accessible to snorkelers.
Sailing
Thanks to its isolated location in the Atlantic, Bermuda is an excellent site for sailing, with many enthusiasts choosing to head out into the tranquil turquoise waters in search of hidden coves, or navigate the group of tiny islands that make up the archipelago. The island hosts many international yachting events, and racing season runs from March to November.
Water Sports
Jet skiing, water-skiing, windsurfing, kayaking, parasailing, and even helmet-diving can be enjoyed from Bermudas' beaches. Boston whaler boats, motor boats, paddle-boats and kayaks are also available for rent, and there are sport fishing trips out into the Atlantic.
Golf
Golf is played all over Bermuda, with 8 courses to choose from - a huge amount for such a small island. There are championship courses, and a number of particularly picturesque and scenic golf courses. The island sees ideal conditions for the sport, with the best weather experienced during the spring and autumn months, when there is lots of sunshine and little humidity. Ideal place for golf holidays in the sun!
Sports & Leisure
Tennis can also be played everywhere, and bike rental is an excellent way to get out and see the sights (although some areas of Bermuda are quite hilly). Cricket is a popular spectator sport, and the Equestrian Centre holds various show-jumping and dressage events.
Countryside
Bermuda has a lush green interior, and is a great place for walking, hiking, and enjoying nature rambles and bird-watching, with a number of reserves and sanctuaries on the island. The largest is Spittal Pond Nature Reserve, home to wild birdlife and offering guided hikes.
Sights
Major tourist attractions to see if you are on a holiday in Bermuda include the Royal Navy Dockyards, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of St. George's, the Botanical Gardens and the Crystal Caves. Visitors can swim with dolphins at the Dolphin Quest Experience, or tour the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.
