Humidity can be high in the peak months of July and August with temperatures rising above 30c and visitors should enjoy 11 hours of daily sunshine. Rain during summer is rare and may sometimes fall in heavy downpours followed by thunder but should not affect the enjoyment of a Benidorm beach holiday for more than a few hours. Isolated extreme heat may occur from time to time with high afternoon temperatures in mid summer reaching close to 40c so care should be taken when sunbathing.

Daytime temperatures seldom drop below 12c during the winter months and the climate is often fine and clear with sunny skies. Rainfall is at its heaviest in January and intermittent rain and cloudy skies may be experienced although bright sunshine is never too far away. A typical holiday in January will see 5 hours of winter sun each day. Winter nights can often feel chilly.
