The beach at Benalmadena is long and wide, and stretches from Torremolinos on one side to Fuengirola to the other, offering shallow waters for safe swimming, and all the facilities one would expect, such as lifeguards, sunloungers and umbrellas, and convenient bars and cafes. Behind the beach, the promenade is lined with small shops, bars and numerous high-rise hotels and apartment complexes, with the award-winning marina at Benalmadena full of modern yachts and luxury cruisers, and offering sailing and scuba-diving. Just behind Benalmadena Costa lies Arroyo de la Miel, the business centre and residential heart of the resort, with the historic old quarter in the village nestled up in the mountains.

Watersports, fishing, sailing, tennis, biking and horse-back riding are all available in Benalmadena, and like all resorts in the Costa del Sol, plenty of great golf courses are within reach. Family attractions in Benalmadena include the theme park Tivoli World, an Aquarium and the cable-car ride up into the mountains. A trip to the traditional village of Benalmadena Puelbo, with its’ authentic restaurants, quaint shops and buildings such as the unique lookout castle, the Castillo de Colomares, is perfect for those in search of a taste of the real Andalusia.
