Barbati Holidays– A mile-long beach with clean water
A long white pebble and shingle beach in an impressive mountain setting is the main attraction of Barbati. A summer holiday here appeals to families looking for a quiet resort with limited nightlife. The resort is divided into two parts. The busier resort is on the main road while Barbati beach with its EU blue flag in recognition of the quality of its water, is found below. The beach is sheltered, clean, and safe but quite a steep drop from the resort on the road, making it a little tough for smaller children. The village centre retains some traditional charm and offers a modest collection of bars, tavernas and restaurants.

Mount Pantokrator drops steeply to the strikingly blue sea at Barbati, creating a dramatic white cliff setting. The town is on the north of the east coast of Corfu, 12 miles north of Corfu Town, the island’s capital, and just north of the small Corfu village of Glyfa. Barbati has fine views across the pine-sheltered bay to Corfu Town which is only thirty minutes away and which provides plenty of   shopping and livelier nightlife to complement a cheap holiday here.

The neighbouring sheltered bay of Nissaki is another excursion possibility along with boat trips and water sports like waterskiing. A break here could include trips along the unforgettable mountainous coastline, exploration of the hills and mountains inland, or a visit to the youth party resort of Ipsos, another close neighbour.
