International style restaurants are limited to the hotels on the beach front, but you can pick up delicious traditional African food from the markets, such as rice and sauce, peanut stew and spicy risotto. There is also a huge range of fruit, nuts and fritters for sale from street vendors throughout the day.
National Parks
A day-trip away from Banjul, situated all along the Gambia River are a number of national wildlife parks which offer spectacular walks and the opportunity to see African wildlife up close. The three main parks open to the public are the The Abuko National Reserve, the coastal Bijilo Forest Park and the Kiang West National Park.
Wildlife
