You may spend much of your holiday in Bangkok on the eastern bank of the Chao Phraya River. Here in the district of Rattanakosin Island you will find the exquisite Royal Grand Palace with its Temple of the Emerald Buddha known as Wat Phra Kaew. Also here is Wat Pho - the largest temple in Bangkok with a 46-meter long, gold Reclining Buddha - and the fascinating National Museum. Many Bangkok hotels are situation in this part of the city. In the neighbouring Sukhumvit Road area you will be spoilt for choice if your Bangkok holiday involves shopping as here there are many big stores, as well as the popular Jim Thompson Thai House and Suan Pakkard Palace Museum. Travelling to other parts of the city during a short Bangkok holiday can be restrained by congestion, however taking the Sky Train can overcome this.
Bangkok Holidays - The gateway to perfect beaches

When you've had your fill of blisteringly busy Bangkok take a chilled out trip to the beaches of the south, such as Koh Pha Ngan, Krabi or the island haven of Phuket.
