Our Review of the Balearic Islands...
The Balearic Islands of Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera richly deserve their reputation as one of the classic holiday destinations of Europe. Many of our customers find there is sufficient variety here to merit repeated visits year after year. The atmosphere on each island is quite distinct, and surprisingly different from Spanish mainland favourites like the Costa del Sol and the Costa Brava. While action-packed partying resorts in Ibiza and Majorca grab the headline, the vast majority of Balearic Island holidays feature pleasant, easy-going family resorts with excellent beaches, great-value accommodation, a good mix of restaurants and pleasantly relaxed nightlife. Formentera is known for its outstanding beaches, Majorca for its great-value family resorts, Ibiza for its clubbing holidays and Menorca for its scenic coastline, but there is far more to each island than the cliché image would have you believe. All the Balearic Islands share a fabulous Mediterranean climate, a superb choice of bars and restaurants, rewarding excursions and outstanding opportunities for watersports. Our Directline Balearic Islands resort descriptions will reveal the wide range of exciting Balearics holidays on offer all year round.

Customer Reviews of the Balearic Islands...

“Ibiza was my first holiday abroad with a group of girl friends. We had an unforgettable time. I’ve since been back to see more of the island with my boyfriend. Ibiza is a gorgeous place and we love the atmosphere. Everybody should experience Ibiza once in their life! ”
Miss H Martin, Somerset UK

“The Balearics have that special atmosphere of an island but are big enough to be interesting and varied. Of course it’s the beaches and weather that really make it. We’ve been coming back here for over 20 years and have never been disappointed”
Mr and Mrs Richards, Newcastle, UK

“Formentera is amazingly different from the other islands. Very very laid-back little towns and amazing long beaches. We came back from Formentera wonderfully tanned and relaxed in May! Very affordable too.”
Mr Blake, London UK
