Bakau is blessed with a subtropical climate, which means hot weather all year round and a distinct rainy season. November to mid-May is considered the best time to visit Bakau and is known as the dry season. During this period there will be little chance of rain, humidity levels are low and temperatures will hover around the 30C mark. Sunshine levels will also be high, and the stunning beaches at Bakau and nearby Cape Point, Kotu, and Kololi will receive around nine hours of hot sunshine per day. Air and ocean temperatures vary little and this is the perfect time for swimming, diving, and enjoying the numerous water sports this area of the Gambia is famous for.
Weather in Bakau – Low season holidays with plenty of sun
As you would expect from a location that boasts such a hot climate a little rain must fall. The rainy season in Bakau appears from June to October but the rainfall will generally be short lived and tends to fall throughout the night. At this time of the year the temperature can rise above the 40C mark and humidity levels will be slightly higher. This is the ideal time to grab a low season bargain holiday in sunny Bakau.
