Bahia Principe Things To Do

Beaches
The beaches are the main feature of the resort, with the many guests staying at the all-inclusive hotels choosing to stay close to the stunning stretches of white sands and welcoming warm blue seas.

Water Sports
For those looking for more energetic pastimes, there's a wide choice of water sports on offer whilst staying in Bahia Principe, from windsurfing, banana boats, sailing and kayaking, to snorkelling and scuba-diving.

Boat Trips
Many boat trips run along the north coast, including fishing trips, catamaran rides and speedboat excursions to idyllic spots such as Saona Island and Island Cayo Levantado, where guests can snorkel and enjoy beach picnics and barbeques.

Sports
Away from the water, there are facilities for tennis, golf, mini-golf, beach volleyball, football, basketball, table-tennis and the use of various gyms and fitness centres in the hotels.

Cycling & Horse Riding
Venture from the coast and explore the islands' lush tropical landscapes, either on horseback, scooter or rented mountain bike, and discover the charming interior full of sugar cane plantations, rolling hills and authentic local towns.

Entertainment
There is plenty of hotel-based entertainment in Bahia Principe, with merengue and salsa dancing lessons and aerobics classes on the beach, as well as numerous bars and discos for night-time fun, and, of course a huge range of dining options.

Day Trips
Head to the Cordillera Central mountains for an exciting jeep safari, or visit Samana Bay and its humpback whale sanctuary (whale-watching takes place from January to March).  For a faster pace, as well as a spot of culture and shopping, the capital of the Dominican Repubic is Santo Domingo.  Visit Santo Domingo for a great day out and check out the historic city of Santiago.
