Nestling by a rocky, wooded headland, Baga Beach offers a picturesque and scenic retreat for sunbathing, and local fishermen can be seen returning with the catch of the day in the morning. The Baga River flows along one side of the beach, and offers an alternative to swimming in the sea, especially for children. As well as swimming, most tourists on Baga Beach are content just to relax and sunbathe on the fine sand, try their hand at fishing or go for a walk along the shore enjoying the beautiful scenery. Despite the quiet peaceful beach, the main road in Baga Village is lined with bars and shops, and Baga Beach is known for its’ great choice of restaurants and lively nightlife.

Baga Beach has seen some rapid development in recent years, and now offers holidaymakers a wide range of places to eat and plenty of entertainment. Everything from seafood and local Goan specialities, to pizza and sophisticated international cuisine can be found in Baga Beach, and the choice of nightlife is just as extensive, with bars such as Tito’s, Kamaki and Mambo’s providing a good mix of both Goan and Western music.
