Beaches Beaches in the Arossim area are a delight; take your pick from the numerous beautiful white sand beaches such as Arossim beach, Velsao, Utorda, Majorda and Betalbatim beach. You really are spoilt for choice in this area of South Goa; the beaches here are more peaceful, cleaner and unspoilt than some of the other areas in Goa.
Diving You cannot afford to miss the chance to go diving on holiday in Arossim. The exotic marine life includes sharks, barracuda and stingrays. You can swim among sunken Spanish galleons and through spectacular underwater caves. There are many dive centres that give lessons and arrange dives in South Goa.
Markets Markets are the lifeblood of Goa, and it is worth making the trip from Arossim to the covered market at Margao. This colourful array of stalls is the market centre of South Goa and you can spend many hours just wandering around and watching the local barter over goods.
Tours There are numerous tours from Arossim to see some of the colourful and ancient sights of Goa. Visit Chandor’s Colonial Mansions that date back to the 17th century complete with Italian marble floors, chandeliers made from Belgian glass, and beautiful carved furniture. Not to be missed is a tour of the Rivona Buddhist Caves that were occupied by Buddhist monks in the 6th century AD.
Getting Around Getting around in Arossim is easy; you can hire motorcycles, mopeds or bicycles quite cheaply. It is a great way to get out and explore the little hidden villages or find some secluded coves that this area of Goa is famous for.
Nightlife You will not have much trouble finding a colourful bar, live music or an excellent restaurant in Arossim. Whether you fancy a nice quiet evening sipping some local drinks on the terrace, or dancing the night away in a busy nightclub, you will not be disappointed by the range of options available in and around Arossim.
